No Case .  I believe it was in a wall frame because of the thickness of the preserver.   Missing one side of the very wide preserver.
Heavy matching 1/6 plate mats on both sides of the sealed ambrotype.  Ambrotype & cover glass still sealed together.
Note 1:  Glass Ambrotype Plate is not exactly 1/6 plate; actual size 2"3/4 x 2"7/8.  Making ambrotype 3/8" undersize on the tall side of a 1/6 plate.  A piece of wood was placed above the ambrotype to make up the 3/8" difference (4th & 5th auction photo).  This is how the photography studio packaged the ambrotype, very unique.
Note 2:  Thumb Prints just above girl on back emulsion side; doesn't show thru the viewing side.  Also a band of scratches on the back emulsion side located; ear showing down thru hair.
Note 3:  Contemporary kodak paper black backing (3rd auction photo).
Back Emulsion side has some thumb prints on background just above girls head, wear, loss, debris, scratches on the emulsion side from ear showing down thru hair.  Missing one side of the very wide preserver.
