    Description

    This is a vintage reproduction of "William the Hippo" the unofficial mascot of the Museum of Modern Art in NYC.
    The original piece was a funerary object found in 1910 in an ancient Egyptian tomb dated to the Middle Kingdom.
    It was gifted to the MoMA in 1917 where it has been part of the collection since.
    This statuette reproduction is in excellent condition.
    There are no cracks, breaks, chips, or repairs.
    Crazing is clearly visible throughout the piece.
    The turquoise faience is bright against the black line drawing of papyrus.
    The underside has vintage green felt surface protectors and the handpainted signature mark MMA.
    The dimensions are: 4"L x 2 1/2"W x 3 1/2"H
